About USC NPHC
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) represents USC’s historically Black fraternities and sororities. These organizations have contributed to student life at USC for more than a century through scholarship, service, leadership, cultural engagement, and lifelong brotherhood and sisterhood.
USC is home to eight of the nine historically Black Greek-letter organizations known collectively as the Divine Nine. Together, these chapters carry forward a legacy of academic achievement, civic engagement, advocacy, and service to communities at USC and beyond.

A Century of Legacy at USC
NPHC organizations have shaped USC student life for generations. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. established the Alpha Delta Chapter in 1921, followed by the Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in 1923 and the Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 1924. USC’s chartered NPHC chapters formally organized the USC National Pan-Hellenic Council in 1995.
